Corn, Callus & Plantar Wart Care

Gentle Foot and Wound Care provides personalized mobile care for uncomfortable corns, calluses, and plantar warts in the comfort of the patient’s home or senior living community. Each visit includes careful evaluation of the affected area, gentle care when appropriate, and practical guidance to help reduce pressure, protect the skin, and support greater comfort and mobility.

Corn and Callus Care

Corns and calluses develop when repeated pressure or friction causes areas of skin to become thickened. They commonly form over prominent joints, beneath the feet, or where footwear rubs against the skin. Care is personalized according to the location, condition of the skin, circulation, sensation, and overall foot health.

Corn and callus care may include:

• Careful evaluation of the thickened skin and surrounding area
• Identification of pressure, friction, or footwear concerns
• Gentle reduction of thickened skin when clinically appropriate
• Observation for cracks, irritation, bleeding, or wounds beneath the area
• Guidance for reducing pressure and protecting the skin
• Recommendations for footwear adjustments or additional medical evaluation

Plantar Wart Care

Plantar warts develop on the bottom of the foot and may become uncomfortable when pressure is placed on them while standing or walking. Because plantar warts can resemble corns, calluses, or other skin changes, the area is carefully assessed before a care plan is recommended.

Plantar wart care may include:

• Evaluation of the area and surrounding skin
• Observation of the location, appearance, and level of discomfort
• Gentle reduction of overlying thickened skin when appropriate
• Targeted treatment based on the patient’s individual needs and health history
• Education about protecting the area and reducing the chance of spreading the virus
• Monitoring of the area at follow-up visits
• Referral for advanced treatment when needed

What to Expect During Your Visit

Your mobile visit takes place in the comfort of your home or senior living community. Care is provided at a comfortable pace and is tailored to the condition of your skin, sensation, circulation, mobility, and overall foot-care needs.

During the visit, you can expect:

• A review of your symptoms, health history, and foot-care concerns
• Careful observation of the affected area and surrounding skin
• Evaluation of pressure, friction, footwear, and mobility factors
• Gentle reduction of thickened skin when clinically appropriate
• Targeted plantar wart care when appropriate
• Clear explanations throughout the visit
• Practical guidance for protecting the area between appointments
• Recommendations for follow-up care or additional medical evaluation

When Additional Medical Care May Be Needed

Some skin changes require diagnostic testing or treatment beyond routine mobile foot care. When a concern is identified, we explain what was observed and recommend an appropriate healthcare provider or specialist.

Additional evaluation may be recommended for:

• Increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pain, or drainage
• Cracked, bleeding, or open areas of skin
• A sore or wound that is not healing
• Rapid changes in the size, color, shape, or appearance of an area
• A growth that cannot be clearly identified as a corn, callus, or plantar wart
• Significant numbness, reduced circulation, or other high-risk health concerns
• Persistent or recurring discomfort despite appropriate care
• Conditions requiring diagnostic testing or advanced treatment

Patients should not wait for their next routine visit when a new or worsening foot problem is present.
