Personalized Foot-Care Education and Referrals
Every patient’s foot-care needs are different. We provide clear, personalized education to help patients and caregivers understand assessment findings, support safe daily foot care, recognize changes that may need attention, and feel confident about recommended next steps. When a concern requires services beyond the scope of a mobile visit, we explain why additional evaluation may be helpful and recommend an appropriate healthcare provider or specialist.
Personalized Foot-Care Education
Foot-care education is personalized to each patient’s health history, mobility, comfort, and ability to safely care for their feet. We explain findings in clear, patient-friendly language and provide practical guidance that patients and caregivers can use between visits.
Education may include:
-
Understanding findings from the foot assessment
-
Safely checking the feet, skin, and toenails for changes
-
Supporting healthy skin and nail-care routines
-
Reducing pressure and friction that may contribute to corns or calluses
-
Choosing footwear that supports comfort and safety
-
Recognizing changes that should be reported to a healthcare provider
-
Understanding treatment and follow-up recommendations
-
Helping family members or caregivers support the patient’s foot-care needs
When a Referral May Be Recommended
Some foot concerns require diagnostic testing, treatment, or ongoing management beyond what can be provided during a mobile foot-care visit. When this happens, we explain what was observed, why additional evaluation may be helpful, and what type of healthcare provider may be appropriate.
A referral may be recommended for:
-
Persistent or worsening foot pain
-
Deep, complex, or slow-healing wounds
-
Possible signs of infection
-
Circulation concerns
-
Significant numbness or loss of sensation
-
Structural changes affecting comfort or mobility
-
Recurrent conditions that require advanced treatment
-
Concerns requiring diagnostic testing or imaging
-
Foot problems that fall outside the scope of mobile care

Supporting Patients and Caregivers
Foot-care education is provided in clear, patient-friendly language so patients feel informed, respected, and involved in their care. With the patient’s permission, family members and caregivers may participate in discussions, ask questions, and learn how to support safe foot-care routines between visits. Our goal is to help everyone understand the care provided, changes that should be monitored, and any recommended next steps.
